In the Gift Set Gallery ~

The fuschia-theme accessory set includes a large zipper pouch with a creamy, faux leather base. I lined the zipper pouch with waterproof PUL (Polyurethane Laminated Fabric). The smaller zipper pouch is lined with quilt cotton. The smaller pouch t is suitable for coins, earbuds or a mask.  Both pouches feature a deep pink Blue Calla zipper. This accessory set includes a two-tone key ring wristlet. I always clip one of these to my keys. It helps me find them when they hide in the bottom of my purse.

The Breast Cancer “Hope” handmade accessory set features “Love Pink” coordinating fabrics from Windham Fabrics and white faux leather. I used a lovely pink zipper to which I added a “Be Fierce” charm.  The two-tone key ring wristlet features a pretty, crystal rivet.

The gorgeous chickadee and pussywillow zipper pouch features “First Snowfall” fabric from Hoffman Fabrics. I paired it with a black faux suede base and lined it with waterproof PUL. I added a small snowflake charm to the dark blue Blue Calla zipper and pull.

Clip it to a bag, a lanyard or backpack to keep important small items easy to find. The custom-made pouch is great for holding earbuds, money, identification, an inhaler, keys, a membership card, and more.  The size and shape of this pouch can also be adjusted to accommodate an epi-pen. Add a wrist strap and it becomes a fun accessory for runners and dog walkers. Use seasonal or party fabric and it can be reused as “gift wrap.”

This beautiful green and blue fabric is “Balinesia” by Dover Hill for Benartex. I paired it with a pretty turquoise zipper.

The wintery chickadee zipper pouch was made to coordinate with a Clydebank Tote. The fabric is  “First Snowfall” by Hoffman Fabrics. 

The Halloween and Christmas-theme boxy zipper pouches were made with various fabrics from my “stash.”

I subsequently received orders for custom-made zipper pouches. For these, I upgraded the zippers, added charms to the zipper pulls, and used a variety of coordinating fabrics. The handcrafted zipper pouches are very versatile. They are spacious enough to hold make-up, sanitary supplies, an epi-pen, infant needs, or toiletries. They can be made in quilt cotton, faux leather, outdoor fabric, canvas, cork, or vinyl. They can be “blinged up” with shiny rivets and fun charms.

A zipper pouch is a great add-on to a tote bag. For the Las Vegas theme Sheridan Tote, I added a swivel hook to the exterior of the zipper pouch and a ring to the top of the tote. Clip the pouch to the tote and you’ll never struggle to find it! It is always close at hand.

The abstract, watercolor blue pouch interior and lining fabrics are from the Ink Flowers collection by Ninola Design for P & B Textiles.

The vibrant pink pouch exterior and lining are both from Boho Owls by Connie Haley for  3 Wishes Fabrics.

The colorful giraffe, monkey, and hippo fabric is “Jumpin’ Jungle” for Jelly Bean Junction licensed to MM Fab, Inc

The pretty deep blue floral pouch is made with “Rock Garden” by Teresa Ascone for P & B Textiles.

The rabbit-theme zipper pouches were handcrafted especially for Richmond-based Rabbitats Rescue Society. They are slightly smaller than the other zipper pouches but are still a great way to keep essentials tidy.

This roomy boxy bag is perfect for keeping things organized at home, in a locker at school, at the office, in a larger gym bag or when traveling.

Each of these handcrafted gifts was made with a specific person in mind. The fabrics were chosen to reflect favorite colors, hobbies, and activities. I used quilt cotton, canvas, twill, faux leather and vinyl.

This pattern was originally designed by Kelby Sews. I have made adjustments to the original design with each bag.

Many customizations are available with this bag. It can be made with or without hardware (strap connectors). The top of this tote can be left open or it can be closed with a magnet or a zipper. The Bespoke Ethel Totes pictured here have each been paired with a clip-on pouch for a small bottle of hand sanitizer or, in the case of the cassette bag, a phone. The pouches can be clipped to a strap connector or to a ring added specifically for this purpose.

The spectacular hummingbird fabric is Morning Glory Shimmer by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. I paired it with a lime green Spradling vinyl and I made a coordinating Hand Sanitizer Bottle Pouch that clips onto the bag.

The gorgeous exterior accent fabric of the blue floral bag is “Rock Garden” by Teresa Ascone for PB Textiles.  I coordinated it with sapphire vinyl from Spradling Vinyl and gold-finish hardware. The pretty lining is “Unusual Garden” by Jason Yenter for  In The Beginning Fabrics.

The feature exterior print for the “cork” bag pockets is “Vineyard Classics” designed by Maria Kalinowski for Kanvas Studio of Benartex Fabrics. I used gunmetal finish rectangular rings to attach the straps to this bag. The main bag is upholstery/home decor fabric.

The custom-made “Cassette” bag and cell phone holder feature two delightful and colorful Rebel Girl fabrics designed by Lysa Flower for PBS Fabrics. I used one for the exterior pockets and the other for the bag lining. The bag itself is made with black canvas. I also custom-made a small pouch, especially for a phone. The pouch attaches to a ring on the tote with a swivel hook.

The taupe Ethel has many modifications including changing the handles to an adjustable crossbody strap and adding a zipper closure to the top. I used a durable Sunbrella fabric in “Linen Stone” for the exterior and quilt cottons in the interior.

The pattern for Ethel Tote was designed by Swoon Sewing Patterns.

This handcrafted bag is a wonderful showcase for beautiful fabric. I made myself one for a summer road trip and paired it with a Clematis Wristlet. Next, I was asked to make one as a Christmas gift for a bird lover. My third Clydebank Tote was made for a lovely lady who wanted to celebrate snow.

Pretty, cut-out handles, zipper pockets in the bag interior, and an optional, recessed zipper closure are features of this classic bag. If made as designed,  this bag does not require hardware.

The Sunshine Crossbody bag is a lovely way to highlight spectacular fabric and hardware. Each time I make this bag, it is a unique reflection of the woman who will carry it.

This bag is well-suited to enlarging to 115%. When we do that, it measures approximately 8.6 inches from top to bottom, 12 inches from side to side and 3.5 inches from front to back. In order to maintain structure, I use fusible foam in this larger bag.

This handcrafted bag can also be made as a wristlet (with a wrist strap rather than a crossbody, adjustable strap).

Contact me today to discuss a beautiful, custom-made Clematis Wristlet.

The feature fabric for the top front and back of the Clematis Wristlet can be cork, a home decor fabric, quilt cotton or a canvas. Usually, I recommend a vibrant print but there are no “rules.” You can use anything that appeals to you.

Once you choose a beautiful feature fabric for this bag, you will want to consider the base. The base can be made with fabric (possibly denim, canvas or twill), vinyl, faux leather, home decor fabric, or cork.

Together, we also select the zipper color and the hardware.  The hardware for this wristlet includes rivets, a swivel hook/lobster clasp, a D or O ring, and a “Handmade” label that we coordinate with the zipper.

One option, to consider with the Clematis Wristlet, is enlarging it by 15% and adding a crossbody strap. This is what I did with the sea urchin, and sea star fabric titled Looking for Sea Life by Stof Fabrics. When we enlarge by 15%, it measures approximately 6.5″ from top to bottom, 11 inches from side to side and 3 inches from front to back.

The lovely and versatile Clematis Wristlet was designed by Ontario-based, Blue Calla Patterns.

In the Clematis Wristlet gallery –

The gleaming purple and pink wristlet features Artisan Spirit Shimmer fabric designed by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. For this bag, I used striking gold vinyl and added gold rivets and a fun, handcrafted, beaded tassel.

The blue and yellow shark-theme fabric is by Sevenberry (Japan). I coordinated it with a navy blue vinyl by Spradling.

The charcoal grey, cocktail theme Clematis Wristlet was made with fabric designed by Tara Reed for Ink & Arrow. I used a gleaming gold home decor fabric for the base.

The Autumn-theme wristlet is made with a V.I.P. print from Cranston Print Works  with black canvas for the base.

The Clematis Wristlet I was commissioned to make for a compassionate veterinarian features “Must Love Dogs” by Ginger Oliphant for  Studio E Fabrics. I paired it with black canvas and also made a coordinating Sheridan Tote.

The hummingbird fabric I used for the teal wristlet is by Quilting Treasures. It necessitated some careful cutting and adjustments to the pattern.

The pretty green floral Clematis Wristlet is made with “Marguerite” by Ellen Crimi-Trent for Clothworks. It is lined with a pretty, pink and white stripe coordinating fabric. The base is purple faux leather.

The teal, navy, grey, and salmon fabric is “Fish Hope” designed by Hoodie Crescent for Paintbrush Studio Fabrics. The base is a lovely, woven, home decor fabric.

The scarlet red poppy-theme bag was commissioned as a birthday gift for historian and author, Linda Granfield. Ms. Granfield has written extensively about John McCrae and In Flanders Fields.

The fabric for the turquoise cat and kitten Clematis Wristlet was designed by Tracy Lizotte for Elizabeth’s Studio. The sweet “Meow” lining is by Camelot Design Studio.

The road trip theme wristlet was made to coordinate with a Clydebank Tote. It is by Dan DiPaolo for Clothworks.

The glimmering Tomato Tossed Cat fabric features rich jewel tones. It is from the Feline Frolic collection by Laurel Burch Studios.

The eye-catching sea turtle and turquoise crossbody Clematis features a print from the Dan Morris’ fabric collection, “Oceana” for Quilting Treasures. We used a gorgeous zipper from Blue Calla and silver finish oval spring hook rings. This crossbody bag is 15% larger and 1″ deeper (top to bottom) vs the wristlet.
