Designed by Country Cow Designs, the beautiful Teloujay Crossbody Bag is roomy enough to accommodate a phone, a wallet, and some makeup.

If you prefer a large bag, this pattern is very adaptable. It can be made taller or both taller and wider. The gleaming, teal crossbody bag was handcrafted in two, coordinating “Shimmer” prints by Deborah Edwards for Northcott.

Forage Crossbody Bag

The Forage Crossbody Bag is great for carrying essentials – a wallet, phone, keys, tissues, lip balm. The compact design makes it ideal for taking on walks or when doing quick errands. The bag features a non-adjustable crossbody strap that is attached through two grommets. The zipper opening is on the front of the bag.

Sunshine Crossbody Bag

Such a beautiful bag!

The Sunshine Crossbody bag is a lovely way to highlight spectacular fabric and hardware. Each time I make this bag, it is a unique reflection of the woman who will carry it.

This bag is well-suited to enlarging to 115%. When we do that, it measures approximately 8.6 inches from top to bottom, 12 inches from side to side and 3.5 inches from front to back. In order to maintain structure, I use fusible foam in this larger bag.

This handcrafted bag can also be made as a wristlet (with a wrist strap rather than a crossbody, adjustable strap).

In the Sunshine Crossbody Bag gallery –

The striking green, eggplant, grey and black bag was made with “Printed Treeline” cork fabric. Exclusive to MM Cork Supply, a BC company, based in Trail, this fabric is imported directly from Portugal. I coordinated the cork fabric and lined the bag interior with “Garden of Dreams” by In the Beginning Fabrics. I used a beautiful “Handmade” bag label by (Edmonton-based) Emmaline Bags. The zipper charms are by Beadlanding and share inspiring quotes that seemed perfect for a recent graduate.

Cork is s a natural, sustainable, vegan, PETA-approved, eco-friendly product. It is lovely to work with and to look at!

The beautiful hummingbird fabric is by Quilting Treasures. I paired it with a teal twill and a small amount of woven home decor fabric.

For both the “Hummingbird” Sunshine Crossbody Bag and the “Printed Treeline” bags, I adjusted the front and the back panels to accommodate the feature fabrics.

The honeycomb, bee-theme Sunshine Crossbody Bag was made especially for a beekeeper. I used Michael Miller Fabric’s Queenbee coordinating fabrics by Diane Kappa Designs for the exterior and the lining.

I have made two poppy-theme Sunshine Crossbody bags – one for myself and one for a dear friend. The beautiful scarlet fabric practically glows! For my friend’s poppy crossbody bag, I used Michael Miller Fabric’s Glitz Bars. It is a beautiful, glamourous fabric that really “pops” as a lining.

The larger Sunshine Crossbody, photographed on an ivory chair was made at 120% of the usual size. My client chose a beautiful taupe/grey home decor fabric for the centre panels and we paired it with Summer Twill for the side panels. The rich red lining is Crackle (Cabernet) by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. For this bag, my client chose gunmetal finish hardware and zippers.

The black and white photo is of one of my very first handcrafted bags – it predates my efforts to carefully photograph every bag. It features a lovely paisley print by V.I.P. for Cranston Print Works Company.

The black, red and green Sunshine Crossbody bag was created especially for the Richmond Christmas Fund. It features beautiful, gunmetal zipper pulls by Blue Calla (Toronto, Ontario), a “Handmade” label by Emmaline Bags (Spruce Grove, Alberta) and an adjustable, crossbody strap. The striking exterior feature fabric is Everlasting Rose by Iron Orchard Designs for Clothworks. The bag is lined with a coordinate, also by Iron Orchard Designs. Clematis Wristlet

The Bespoke Clematis Wristlet is very popular for gift giving. This beautiful wristlet/clutch can be used by itself, for essentials (wallet, keys, lip balm, tissues) or it can be used to organize small items in a larger bag, a locket or even a car. More than once, I have made this to match a tote and created a beautiful, coordinating set.

The feature fabric for the top front and back of the Clematis Wristlet can be cork, a home decor fabric, quilt cotton or a canvas. Usually, I recommend a vibrant print but there are no “rules.” You can use anything that appeals to you.

Once you choose a beautiful feature fabric for this bag, you will want to consider the base. The base can be made with fabric (possibly denim, canvas or twill), vinyl, faux leather, home decor fabric, or cork.

Together, we also select the zipper color and the hardware. The hardware for this wristlet includes rivets, a swivel hook/lobster clasp, a D or O ring, and a “Handmade” label that we coordinate with the zipper.

One option, to consider with the Clematis Wristlet, is enlarging it by 15% and adding a crossbody strap. This is what I did with the sea urchin, and sea star fabric titled Looking for Sea Life by Stof Fabrics. When we enlarge by 15%, it measures approximately 6.5″ from top to bottom, 11 inches from side to side and 3 inches from front to back.

The lovely and versatile Clematis Wristlet was designed by Ontario-based, Blue Calla Patterns.

In the Clematis Wristlet gallery –

The gleaming purple and pink wristlet features Artisan Spirit Shimmer fabric designed by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. For this bag, I used striking gold vinyl and added gold rivets and a fun, handcrafted, beaded tassel.

The blue and yellow shark-theme fabric is by Sevenberry (Japan). I coordinated it with a navy blue vinyl by Spradling.

The charcoal grey, cocktail theme Clematis Wristlet was made with fabric designed by Tara Reed for Ink & Arrow. I used a gleaming gold home decor fabric for the base.

The Autumn-theme wristlet is made with a V.I.P. print from Cranston Print Works with black canvas for the base.

The Clematis Wristlet I was commissioned to make for a compassionate veterinarian features “Must Love Dogs” by Ginger Oliphant for Studio E Fabrics. I paired it with black canvas and also made a coordinating Sheridan Tote.

The hummingbird fabric I used for the teal wristlet is by Quilting Treasures. It necessitated some careful cutting and adjustments to the pattern.

The pretty green floral Clematis Wristlet is made with “Marguerite” by Ellen Crimi-Trent for Clothworks. It is lined with a pretty, pink and white stripe coordinating fabric. The base is purple faux leather.

The teal, navy, grey, and salmon fabric is “Fish Hope” designed by Hoodie Crescent for Paintbrush Studio Fabrics. The base is a lovely, woven, home decor fabric.

The scarlet red poppy-theme bag was commissioned as a birthday gift for historian and author, Linda Granfield. Ms. Granfield has written extensively about John McCrae and In Flanders Fields.

The fabric for the turquoise cat and kitten Clematis Wristlet was designed by Tracy Lizotte for Elizabeth’s Studio. The sweet “Meow” lining is by Camelot Design Studio.

The road trip theme wristlet was made to coordinate with a Clydebank Tote. It is by Dan DiPaolo for Clothworks.

The glimmering Tomato Tossed Cat fabric features rich jewel tones. It is from the Feline Frolic collection by Laurel Burch Studios.

The eye-catching sea turtle and turquoise crossbody Clematis features a print from the Dan Morris’ fabric collection, “Oceana” for Quilting Treasures. We used a gorgeous zipper from Blue Calla and silver finish oval spring hook rings. This crossbody bag is 15% larger and 1″ deeper (top to bottom) vs the wristlet.
